Warren and Church

Being on an alleyway, this home has a few strikes against it already. This one is actually at the corner of two alleys. It's a shame, really, because the house itself is a good size and has lots of potential.
Warren St, although a park-one-side-only street, has a number of nice homes (this isn't one of them). the west side of the street has a few that have recently been painted, and one home in the middle of the block even has a spacious side yard. My feeling is that is the best way to improve a neighborhood: lead by example, and (hopefully) the rest will (eventually) follow.

  1. I remember this house growing up. They had big, BIG german shepards in the back yard. There were a lot of kids in this neighborhood. When we would ride our bicycles down Church Street. The dogs would run the length of the yard. We never knew if they would hop the fence and attack us.

This house brought back some old and fearful memories.

  3. If you think this street is pretty rough, you should see the old school and the old bakery right behind Porter's Pub. I think it is Mulberry Street. Right by the old bakery, where the alley jogs around a parking lot; that is where the old cat houses where. If I didn't confuse you with those directions, it is more simply here:

Go to 8th and Northampton Streets. There is no actually 8th Street from Northampton. But look on the south side of Northampton Street. There is a big grassy hill. At the top of that hill, go east on the first alley. That is where the madness begins. Those houses were always the grapes of wrath. Have fun.

    Peace, ~~Alex
